The Story of Bilal (RA): From Slave to First Muezzin

Even while being tortured, Bilal would only say "Ahad, Ahad" (One, One) - referring to the oneness of Allah. This shows his unwavering faith and determination. His tormentors couldn't break his spirit.

When Abu Bakr (RA) heard about Bilal's situation, he purchased his freedom. This act of compassion changed Bilal's life forever. He was now free, but more importantly, he was free to practice his faith openly.

Becoming the First Muezzin

After the migration to Medina, when the time came to establish the call to prayer, the Prophet (PBUH) chose Bilal to be the first muezzin. His beautiful voice calling "Allahu Akbar" from the minaret became one of the most iconic sounds in Islamic history.
